This is an art foundations class that will focus on the principals of design and the elements of art. We will be using graphite, pen, and charcoal as our mediums for this class.
Every class will start with a live demonstration on the topic with lecture/instruction (~20-30min) with the rest of the time spent on students working on an assignment. Students will work from photographs and life. By the end of the class, students will be able to self-critique and identify specific design elements in a work of art. They will also be able to received individualized critique and instruction throughout the semester. Additional topics that will be covered including, 1 & 2 point perspective, 3D shading/parts of light, quality of line, ellipses, atmospheric perspective.
The class fee will cover individual supplies, that after the semester, they will be able to take them home.
